Day 1 : Arrive Ahmedabad

 

 

On arrival meet and assist at Ahmedabad airport by our representative, he will brief you about your “ Village And Crafts Tour of Gujarat” and transfer to hotel, on arrival complete the check in formalities.  Now get ready for local city tour, visit Calico Museum is a textile museum having collection of antique and modern Indian textile, which is one of the world’s finest collection of clothes, textiles, furniture and crafts. Adalaj Vav is one of the finest monument of Gujarat,  it is a step well, beautiful architecture, built by Queen Rudabai, Gandhi Ashram the beautiful ashram complex with shady trees. It was the head quarter of Mahatma Gandhi during the struggle time of independence for India and Akshardham Temple.

Day 2 : Ahmedabad - Champaner – Jambughoda by drive

 

 

Post breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Jambughoda (4hrs. approx.), enroute take a stop at Champaner, it is World heritage site, located at north east of Vadodara. It houses 114 monuments of archaeological and historical interest, after visiting Champaner, proceed to Jambudhoda, on arrival transfer to hotel for smooth check in. Overnight at hotel in Jambughoda.

 

 

Day 3 : Jambughoda

 

 

Post breakfast visit Chhota Udepur which was the princely state of Chauhan Rajput who ruled here for many years. It is believed one of the most ancient tribes of Gujarat. In and around this region you will find two types of tribes, one is Rathwa and another is Dhanaka tribes. Dhanaka is a small group of tribals whereas Rathwa originated from Rathore region Overnight at hotel in Jambughoda.

 

 

Day 4 : Jambughoda – Modhera – Patan – Poshina by drive

 

 

Post breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Poshina by drive (6hrs. approx.).  Enroute visit Modhera Sun Temple, dedicated to God Sun.  It is the finest example of the Hindu architecture in Gujarat.  It is architecturally similar to Sun Temple of Konarak in Orissa.  Now proceed to Patan, earlier the capital of an ancient hindu kingdom, now it is famous for patola (silk) weaving,  Patola silk is assured for qualities, gorgeous colour, designs and  durability, using special technique of weaving, raw silk is developed to patola fabric.  You can also visit Rani ki Vav (Step well).  Continue drive to Poshina, on arrival transfer to hotel for smooth check in.

Day 5 : Poshina village tour

 

 

Post breakfast entire day is dedicated to visit tribal village around Poshina, also visit temple of Ambaji, the mother goddess Amba. Overnight at hotel in Poshina.

 

 

Day 6 : Poshina - Little Rann of Kutch by drive

 

 

Post breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Little Rann of Kutch (6 hrs approx.). On arrival transfer to mud house or camp. Overnight in Little Rann of Kutch.

 

 

Day 7 : Little Rann of Kutch

 

 

Post breakfast excursion tour of villages around Little Rann of Kutch. In remote villages interesting people live in huts interior whiteshed. Meet with local people here, see their tradition, culture etc. Overnight in Little Rann of Kutch.

 

 

Day 8 : Little Rann of Kutch - Bhuj by drive

 

 

Post breakfast check out from there and proceed to Bhuj by drive, on arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit Aina Mahal Palace (Closed on Thursday), built in 1750 AD by Rao Lakhpatji. It is a part of a large Palace complex with two storey building. It was constructed by craftsman Ram Singh Malam with hall of mirrors and venetian glass. This Palace is a unique example of an Indian palace built in the mid 18th century with European influence and local bazaar. Overnight at hotel in Bhuj.

 

 

Day 9 : Bhuj tour

 

 

Post breakfast leave for excursion tour of Banni villages. These are the last villages on India Pakistan border. Banni refers to a cluster of village, it is a community of many people in different villages like Ludiya, Dhordo and Hodka. You can see different arts of embroidery in this area. Men and women both are equally participating to develop art and craft tradition in this region. Transfer back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bhuj.

 

 

Day 10 : Bhuj – Gondal by drive

 

 

Post breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Gondal (5.5hrs. approx.), enroute visit Bhujodi, which is the major taxtile center of Kutch, you can meet weavers, block printers, Tie & Dye artists, they can also let you watch them work. Also visit Ajrakhpur for block printing technics. Continue drive to Gondal, on arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Gondal.

 

 

Day 11 : Gondal – Lothal - Ahmedabad by drive

 

 

Post breakfast check out from hotel and visit Gondal covering Royal Garages, it is a large collection of classic and vintage car, some of the original and some are restored, Naulakha Palace , it was built during 17th Century. This palace is one of the oldest and the most beautiful Palace in Gondal and Bhuvaneswari Ayurvedics  having a traditional history of above 250 years, it belongs to a an Ayurvedic physicians family.  Kow proceed to Lothal, it is largely excavated site of Harappan culture, which allows deep insight into the story of Indus Valley civilization.  Proceed to Ahmedabad, transfer to hotel for smooth check in .  Evening visit handicraft market at Law Garden (if time permits).

Day 12 : Ahmedabad Departure

 

 

Post breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to airport to board the flight for onwards journey.
